Walking Soccer in the Windy City

Walking Soccer has reached the Chicago area, as a group of veteran players are taking their skills and experience to a new level. Walking Soccer opened a new door for players who thought that their playing days were over.

Small-sided pick-up games (usually five or six a side) are organized on Tuesday nights at the north fields at the Oak Brook Park District Sports Complex, north of 31st St in Oak Brook. The one-hour games are both a physical and tactical challenge for players who have decades of soccer experience under their belts. The pace is brisk; it’s easy to cover 7000 steps in a typical game.

All players, regardless of age, skill level, and experience are welcome to join. Walking Soccer has allowed everyone in the group to reconnect with their teammates and to establish new soccer friendships. If you can walk, you can play!

Cost to play every week is $5 per player and pre-registration at the Oak Brook Park District website is required. For more information, please contact George Gorecki: georgegorecki@att.net, or call 847-420-8322.
