Members of US Adult Soccer:
Last night your Board of Directors held a call to discuss future programs with USASA, knowing what is upon us and not knowing what the future holds for us. It was a very difficult call as we had to make some decisions that are hurtful to us as an organization, but for the safety of our players, referees and administrators, we all felt this was the best decision we could make under the current circumstances.
The Board has decided to cancel the Steinbrecher Cup, the USASA National Amateur Cup, and Adult Soccer Fest for 2020. The uncertainty of this virus left us with no other solution. We continue to pray that this virus is contained soon and that we can all focus on getting our players and teams back onto the fields to continue playing the sport that we all love. The focus for USASA and the Regions will be to assist State Associations to getting back into action as soon as we are allowed to.
Your Board of Directors will continue to monitor the situation and will continue to make decisions based on the current situations. We will continue to look at our income and see how it effects the current budget. We will make other decisions based on the future of our teams being able to play and register players.
USASA has applied for a loan under the CARES Act for non-profit organizations. We are awaiting to see if our application will be accepted. If you have not applied for a loan, I would advise you to take a look at it and see how your State Association may apply to help with payroll, rent and utility expenses.
If we can be of any help, please do not hesitate to call any one of your Board members or our staff. We are all here to assist each other... we are all in this together! Stay safe and continue to adhere to your local authorities. This too will pass, and we will see each other again on the pitch! God Bless you all and God Bless our country!
